Spanam Shipping Services will ensure that the time that you spend on shore, at the Port of Walvis Bay, is reduced to the minimum. We will therefore save you time and costs.
Following instructions from our clients, Spanam organizes, coordinates and/or supervises the following services:

Preparation before arrival:

• Notification of arrival of vessel by the client to Spanam Agents.
• Book and ensure cargo space on reefer vessel or containers as per client specifications.
• Arrange stevedoring, cranes, transport to perform discharge and loading of cargo.
• Attend to arrange Pilot when necessary.
• Notification and clearing documents with Customs, Immigration and Port Health.
• Arrange berth in Main Harbour as per client requirements.

Arrival and attendance

• Organize and supervise the following vessel operations, such as:
• Fish transhipping to the reefer
• Fish landing (factory /containers)
• Landing of fishing gear and equipment
• Arrange electricity, fresh water as per client requirements.
• Attend to organize the supply of provisions on request
• Attend to organize the supply of fuel on request
• Assistance to the crew members: traveling arrangements, car hire services and general urgent calls (health, police, official etc..)
• Attend to arrange Technical Assistance to the vessels as requested by client

Stevedoring, Loading Offloading:

• Loading / Offloading of fishing gear, equipment, cartons, plastics.
• Loading of provisions.
• Loading / Offloading containers, trucks etc.
• Stevedoring
• Stuffing/de-stuffing of containers outside Harbour premises.
• Lashing of cargo in containers done professionally i.e.: motor vehicles, marble blocks, and I.M.O. Class 7 cargo in drums according to strict packing regulations.

Departure:

• Transire and out clearance of vessel.
• Crew Health Certificates.
• Dispatch of documents with customs, emigration and Fisheries Agency.
